Both Bob Marley’s birthplace and final resting place are in Nine Mile. Ocho Rios is around an hour and a half away from Mausoleum. Although the trip may appear lengthy, it is well worthwhile.
Bob Marley was born in a modest home in the outlying community of Nine Mile, where he lived until the age of thirteen. Bob was influenced by his surroundings and produced works as a result.
Rastafarian guides provide tours to Bob Marley’s property at Nine Mile, which often include a performance of one of Bob’s songs, his house, his bed, his renowned “rock cushion,” where he would rest his head for inspiration, and the Marley mausoleum.
The mausoleum has two tombs, one of which contains the remains of Bob Marley and Anthony Booker, his half-brother. Cedella Booker’s tomb, often known as “Mamma Marley,” is located in the second graveyard.
This one is truly worth your visit if you are a fan of Bob Marley and his music.
